Nice review of the first novel in the Perceval series!

Evan Quinn is an orchestra conductor who only wants to make music. Unfortunately, his mentor was an opponent of the repressive government that governs the U.S., as was his father, a famous writer. While in Austria on a government-approved tour, Evan defects. The police detective assigned to his case is suspicious of his motives, made all the more so because of the interest shown in him by an American intelligence agent assigned to the embassy in Vienna. What none of them know, though, is that Evan is concealing a deadly secret—one that could endanger not just his life, but the lives of everyone around him.
